Venus Fly Traps are endemic to a small portion of
forests in the Carolinas. Humans are trying to
protect the longleaf pine forests from wildfire. But
the plants on the forest floor such as the venus fly
trap suffer because they are not receiving the
adequate amount of sunlight, which they’d
normally get when wildfires bring down trees.
The name is a translation of the Latin saying
“Igne natura renovatur integra”..
